Aÿ-Champagne
Aÿ is the largest and most picturesque of the villages of Champagne and here we find the widest collection of well-known Champagne houses outside of the cities of Reims and Épernay. Aÿ is one of few Grand Cru Villages.
The neighbourhood
Situated on a calm street in the heart of the old part of Aÿ-Champagne, Maison Marcks is very quiet, yet at a 5 minutes walk from several well known Champagne makers (none mentioned, none forgotten), shops and restaurants. On the town square of Aÿ you will be able to have lunch or a glass of Champagne/coffee in the sun on the terrace of the cafés and bakeries.
The house
Maison Marcks Aÿ-Champagne is a comfortable and exclusive home to stay in while exploring Champagne and its many legendary vineyards. It is not known which year the former forgery was built, but the antique oak beams throughout the building date from at least the 17th century.
Tall ceilings offer a spacious and airy, yet very cosy, living space across 3 floors with 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms/WC, 1 separate WC, open plan kitchen/dining/living room that easily accommodates 4 adults. From the living room you have access to the exclusively used inner courtyard through a large glass sliding door.

GROUND FLOOR
Entrance hall with adjacent WC. Living room with sofa group and TV, fully equipped kitchen and dining area all in an open plan setting, with a big window/sliding door facing and giving access to the privatecourt yard.
FIRST FLOOR
Cosy bedroom with Super King size bed (180 x 200 cm). This floor also has a tiled shower room/WC and a landing to access the top floor.
SECOND/TOP FLOOR
Sleeping suite with Super King size bed (180 x 200 cm) with coffee/tea station, desk space, en-suite shower room / WC - all under the beamed, tall ceilings.
OUTDOORS
Private courtyard with lounge seating by the open fire place as well as a dining table - both outside, butunder roof to shelter from too much rain or sun. This is a quiet and wonderfully lush space where you can enjoy your oh so wonderful any-hour-of-the-day-glass-of-Champagne.

It was a perfect house with style and comfort for a visit to the Champagne region. I loved the location. Was able to walk around easily from the house to the center of town. A perfect place to enjoy some champagne. We all really loved it there! There was even a bottle of champagne waiting for us. What a great touch.

"The house is the most charming, quaint rental we have ever stayed in; its beauty and perfection literally brought tears to my eyes! The courtyard is such a special place! What makes this home even more special is Helena’s hospitality: we arrived to find a bottle of champagne, fresh milk, water (still and sparkling), snacks, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and the list goes on! She thought of EVERYTHING, which made our stay even sweeter! In fact, we loved the home so much we stayed an extra night at the expense of our time in Normandy! "We absolutely loved this place! It was so nice to arrive here cause everything inside and around the house is just so clean, beautifully styled, well though out, and welcoming. Charging station, Bluetooth speaker, bath robes, THE AMAZING OUTDOOR FIREPLACE!! and many another little useful things around the house, it all made for a perfect stay. The communication with the owner was great as well. We’re on a road trip and this was our first stop but we joked how we just wished we had booked and stayed here the entire trip. Everything about this property from the moment we walked into the front door it was immaculately clean and felt so homely. It’s beautifully down up inside with a great sized bathroom and bedrooms to go with it. The courtyard outside with the fire pit is such a nice touch and perfect for both Winter stays as well as those Summer evenings - thank you again for a stay to remember!
